System Integration

Dedicated to the dissemination of System Integration information

It could be said that any system is part of an evolutionary process, i.e. any single sub-system is part of an evolutionary process therefore the whole system is part of an evolutionary process.

It is unlikely that any department will be given a task that is completely new to them, they will likely be asked to develop a new sub-system that has more capability (Faster, bigger, more flexible etc) than something they have previously created.  Indeed some senior managers will not give a task to a department unless they have a proven track record of producing the sub-system.  This experience may be in the form of a prototype, or technology demonstrator, but the task will not be given to them unless they have this experience.

This will affect the System Integration (S.I.) process in that the S.I. department will need to evolve to perform S.I. on the new system, which is an evolution of what they have previously integrated.
