Definition of ‘Near World’

My definition of ‘near world’ is the group of systems, or sub-systems, with which your system needs to directly interact with.

For a car steering wheel this would be the driver and the driving column, for a car tyre this would be the wheel rim and the road, for an Internet browser this would be the Internet and the PC display system.

This is what you traditionally think of being the systems, or sub - systems, that your system needs to work with, to communicate with.

Given that the world is becoming more ‘connected’ the systems that your system needs to work with is expanding, i.e. the near world is becoming a lot bigger and the ‘far - world’ is becoming a lot closer.
